We publish literary fiction by authors from Wales or set in Wales, mainly novels. There are no bars to style, subject or setting. Editorial preferences include dark, surreal, lyrical; urban or unromantic rural settings; ambitious narrative; black comedy; panache and authenticity. Editor's current favourite novel is Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre. Literary translations from Welsh to English. We specialise in spotting and developing new writers.

We do literature of place, primarily Midwest. We have these series: Harmony, Midwest Writers, Working Lives, and Paul Laurence Dunbar Series. Our Bird Dog Publishing is primarily a print-on-demand setup with full marketing and distribution. We are funded in part by the Ohio Arts Council, have been around for 22 years and 110 books.
