Chapter 294: [After the War (II)]
Chapter 294: [After the War (II)]
[Equi's POV!]
.
It's been a day since the war was over. And looking at all those white threads of fates slowly gaining colours, put a smile on my face as I walked through the market, carrying a bag of groceries in my hands.
"That is not the answer that I wanted to hear."
In a heavy voice, a demon imitated what Neptune said, before slashing down the empty air in front of him.
"Whoaa!!!" X3
And the surrounding angels and demons shouted with ecstasy before one of the angels spoke,
"MoVe. InSecT- Kyaaa."
Mimicking Laplace in a funny voice, he then acted as if he had been cut down by a sword.
"Pft~ Hahahahaha," one of the angels began laughing, before everyone else did the same.
"Haha," a chuckle escaped my mouth as I found that exchange funny, before those Angels and demons heard me and turned to my direction.
"Miss Equi! Would you like to join us?" One of the Angels asked politely, while the demons moved to clear some space. Though, I simply gave out a pressed smile before answering,
"Sorry. Harik and Iris would eat me alive if I kept them hungry anymore. Especially, Harik's lovely wife had woken up, ya know?"
"Tch!" The angels clicked their tongues.
"Lucky bastard!" The demons cursed silently.
I laughed at their behaviour before waving them all goodbye. These days I have come to understand that Raphi, the Angel Fate Weaver, was one of the most beautiful angels there were. And Harik, an ordinary Farmer Angel was able to get her with little to no effort, so it created quite an upheaval for them.
And then she moved inside the clinic without further explaining.
"Hey! Don't you dare 'there ya go' me. Tell me more!" Harik was pretty interested in her story while he called her out. But noticing that she wasn't answering, he just chuckled before turning to see her wife, who had a narrow, focused and threatening gaze at him.
"Isn't this so lovely?" She asked in a cold voice as she moved in closer to him, her face almost touching Harik's, while Harik sweated buckets. He tried to explain but before he could begin, Raphi sighed and spoke,
"We will be going for twice the duration tonight."
"Huh?" Harik was confused for a moment before Raphi's eyes narrowed even more and he gulped and nodded at once. Looking at him nodding like that, Raphi finally smiled, releasing Harik from the tension that was probably more than when he faced Laplace and his generals.
"Tch!"
"Die in hell."
"Lucky bastard."
And the guards of the Saintess cursed at Harik, with jealousy written all over their faces. Some of them glared, while others had tears in their eys for their singleness. Though as Everice continued working, so did they too.
Shaking my head as I laughed a bit, I then looked at Raphi. She smiled at me before speaking,
"We haven't met properly, right? My name is Raphi, the 8th Fate Weaver. You must be Equi, I heard you went toe to toe against Laplace, even injuring him."
There was a bittersweetness in those words. And even though I understand where it was coming from, I simply let it be. She has to sort those feelings for herself. If despite being a Fate Weaver, she is swayed by feelings like that, then that is all she would amount to.
"I am Equi, the Goddess of Balance. Nice to meet you, Raphi," I introduced myself more as a Goddess than as the "Guide of the Fate Weavers" because I still don't see the potential in her to be the one that would save or perhaps destroy the world.
"Let me help you with those," Raphi said as she took the bag of groceries from my hand, while I let her, before all of us entered the Clinic again.
There were a few days till Sir Neptune would return.
'I guess, we can relax here till then before deciding the next path of our journeys,' I thought before getting busy with work as well.
