Mykel watched the news as he sat on the bed while Elysande was hugging him from behind, kissing his shoulder and neck. "Economic sanctions, diplomatic isolation, and international pressure. Those three methods will crush the Verdentia Republic," Elysande rested her chin head on Mykel's back, listening to the news. "That's the first step Ester took to create problems," she added.
"What's the next step?" Mykel asked as he held Elysande's right hand on his abs.
"Resistance and opposition. Not all of them want to be in this situation and they will show their dissatisfaction toward the government. It will create chaos among themselves," Elysande answered as she stood on her knees so she could wrap her arms around Mykel's neck and look at his face.
"She will support the opposition party, giving them power and authority. But that's too risky because those who are still in dilemma will realize Her Highness's scheme. She's not that simple-minded," Mykel furrowed his eyebrows and pretended to think like Elestria. "Unless Her Highness gains those people's support. Perhaps she's going to make them suffer first and lend them a hand after?" He raised his eyebrows.
Elysande who listened to his monologue was shocked that he could see through Elestria's scheme in a mere second. She was amazed by his insight and how keen his observation was, making her fall for him even more.
"Yes, Ester will sabotage the food and water through the opposition party's help. She will make the Verdentia Republic struggle with a shortage of basic needs. People will starve, thirst, and lose their jobs because food and water will be expensive since they have become a luxury," Elysande nodded her head as she explained.
"She will provide those needs to them, making her the saint, a benevolence figure. But it won't be as simple as taking over a nation. She might become the saint, but can't take their hearts and support, especially their nation," Mykel responded. "Melissa is the key to the people's hearts, and I believe she will use her as a puppet ruler," he added.
"Yes, that's the plan. You were the one who suggested that to Lady Melissa, to be the hero of Verdentia. But we are unsure how long it will take to reach that final step where Ester will come to visit for diplomacy and negotiation. Making Verdentia Republic one of the vassals of Faelethria Kingdom," Elysande explained as she lay down on the bed since she was getting sleepy.
"A year, half a year, or perhaps three months?" Mykel mumbled.
"It would depend on how hard it is to get rid of those senates and those houses of representative. Ester wants to remove them all before she can use Melissa as her puppet ruler," Elysande answered as she made herself comfortable on the bed.
Mykel turned around to look at Elysande, and then he lay down next to her, caressing her long purple hair.
Unfortunately, three individuals couldn't stop the whole opposition party and they were unable to do much about it. They could only punish them by imprisonment, but the number of people who opposed them kept rising. One was imprisoned three to four people joined the opposition party because the shortage problem couldn't be solved.
"Words can't fill an empty stomach," Aston said as he sat in the car, observing his surroundings since he was guarding a dozen trucks filled with food. "I never thought it would turn out this bad. What went wrong and why did these bastards decide to make innocent people suffer?" he asked.
"Because of the greed of some people," Zachary answered. "I'm sorry that you're doing this with me even though this isn't something you want to do," he looked at Aston.
"No need to mention it. How could I say no to the Vice-President when she asked for my help? She's the only politician that I like, and her later father as well," Aston answered. "So, what you said earlier about greed. Is it Her Majesty?" he glanced at Zachary.
"Even though you know the answer, you need to remember about the strongest person in the world. Nobody can touch those whom he protects," Zachary warned as he fixed his mask and looked out the window.
"I only heard stories, but if you said so, I guess we can do nothing, huh?" Aston sighed as he rested his head on his fist. "Rifts starting to appear again, and if we have to focus on the rifts, who will take care of this mess?"
A month passed, and Dystrovia nation which used to be the most chaotic nation had become a peaceful nation. On the other hand, the Verdentia Republic was on the brink of collapsing due to the scarcity of food, water, and all the necessities needed.
Three months had passed, and chaos was everywhere in the Verdentia Republic. It was in a worse state than Dystrovia nation back then, and people lost their jobs as food and water became a luxury. It had been determined that scarcity was inevitable and couldn't be solved as the opposition party grew bigger and took over major cities.
"I'm inviting you all here because I have something to say," Melissa stood on the podium in front of all the government. "We have tried everything to prevent the situation from getting worse, we did what we could, but in the end it's inevitable," she continued.
"I'm not giving up, but I want to suggest that you should stop helping the people..." Melissa pointed out.
Her statement shocked everyone in the auditorium.
"To put it harshly, this matter is beyond your pay grade, and the reason why I'm suggesting you stop is because each of you has a family to feed while I don't have anyone to take care of. Don't waste your time and money on other people. Focus on your family," Melissa said since she knew everyone in the room had donated a lot of money to the people.
"With that being said, I'll use all my assets for the people. I will make sure that we can survive and I'll do anything for our people," Melissa stated. "I will negotiate with the opposition party," she added.
