Chapter 179 An eye opening discussion.
uriel looked at mykel, elena, and amaryllis who were sitting on the other side of the table. she then looked at mykel and noticed the power within him had grown stronger and stronger. she started to be worried about it and about the words that the lord said to her back then.
"since you have come here, that means you have asked the lord about it. tell me," mykel answered as he looked at uriel.
uriel kept staring at mykel and didn't say a single word, and the silence made the atmosphere so heavy. she suddenly took a deep breath as she closed her eyes, and she looked troubled.
"it's already too late, mykel alester," uriel answered as she shook her head slowly. she then heard the sound of skin and flesh being ripped apart, it was elena who clenched her fists and hurt herself. "i said it's too late for you to remove that power from your body, but that doesn't mean there's no other way to stop it," uriel pointed out and looked at elena's fists.
"say it," elena said with a cold gaze.
"become one with the lord and be a part of him," uriel answered and she hated to imagine the lord she served was contaminated by mykel's existence. "your existence has to disappear, and that's the only way to stop the power from growing," uriel added.
elena was about to stand up, but mykel held her hand and stopped her from leaving his side. elena was furious and frustrated that she wanted to destroy something to relieve her emotions. mykel calmly calmed her down and managed to stop her from leaving by putting her head on his chest.
uriel looked at mykel and she felt uneasy when he didn't even show any emotion after hearing that. he focused on calming elena, and she could see how beautiful it was.
"what do you say? the lord has spoken and he welcomes you to his light," uriel asked as she looked at mykel.
"unfortunately, my life isn't mine anymore or belongs to the lord," mykel answered without a serious expression. "my life belongs to my daughters, and i can't give you the answer," mykel pointed out and looked at elena who had calmed down after hearing his heartbeat.
"this isn't the time for that, mykel alester," uriel stared into mykel's eyes with a serious expression. "this power not only makes you invincible, it will bring extinction not to every living being, but it will also to your own creations!" uriel pointed out as she jolted from her seat and looked at mykel with desperation.
uriel clenched her fists this time and she was the one who looked angsty. her expression was enough to tell that she didn't like the idea of it as well, and that made the three of them look at her weirdly.
"mykel alester, i beg you..." uriel frowned. "if you embraced the light, i swear in the lord's name that everything that you have done will be forgiven and all your creations can live however they want," uriel said and stared mykel in the eye.
beldathiel deactivated her [inertia] skill and uriel knew she could move her body again, but she preferred not to. she could feel the warmth of beldathiel's body and how soft and smooth her skin was. she could smell the scent of flowers on beldathiel's hair and she could feel the warm air from beldathiel's nose on her neck.
"no dirty tricks, only genuine affection, and physical intimacy. you're hungry for them and that's what makes you and i different," amaryllis explained as she let go of uriel's hand. "even the end is near, why bother thinking about that? just enjoy the moment that you have left until you have no more regret," amaryllis smiled.
beldathiel removed her arms from uriel and then walked toward mykel and did the same thing. uriel then could see that mykel loved his own creations not only through feelings and emotions but through physical intimacy as well. it was beautiful and there was a tiny bit of jealousy that appeared inside her body.
"you have been disturbed why i don't show a slight feeling of worry and fear. i think you already know the answer to that. i could die right now because i have no regrets," mykel said as he gently caressed beldathiel's hair. "but that doesn't mean i will go without trying. whatever the outcomes, as long as i did my best, i have no regret," mykel continued as he let elena hug him from the side.
uriel smiled and realized that there was no point persuading them because they were determined the moment they were freed from hell. for a human, uriel looked at mykel with admiration and respect because he was evil and kind at the same time.
"i see peace in chaos, i see beauty in ugliness, and i see charm in something horrifying. creation is a masterpiece, and so does destruction because it takes one to start it, and that's the lord's will," mykel said as he looked at uriel. "isn't that what you believe in?" mykel asked with a smile.
uriel stood up and she looked at the waterfalls and the sound they made as she closed her eyes. she looked a bit at peace and she could relax her shoulders because a lot of weight on her shoulders had been lifted. she then spread her wings because she had no more reason to go down to earth. find your next read at empire
"uriel," mykel called.
uriel was about to leave, but she then looked at mykel and wondered why he had called her.
"we are enemies, but we are only enemies when the time comes and on the battlefield. right now we aren't enemies, you are free to come down here and visit us if you want. we will welcome you with open arms," mykel said.
"you can feel my wings too, it feels nice to have someone brush them so gently like what you did earlier," beldathiel agreed as she climbed the table and lay down. "perhaps i can do that to you as well if you want to," beldathiel smiled as her eyes started to close and then she fell asleep again just like that.
"i'll be waiting for you," amaryllis nodded her head.
uriel didn't say anything, but her smile was different than the smiles she had been showing earlier. she was happy to hear that, and then she left without saying a single word to them and disappeared into the sky.
