Chapter 772 - 371: the visage of the Awakened World-Lion
Chapter 772 - 371: the visage of the Awakened World-Lion
"We don’t think it’s some Desperate Secret Realm. It feels more like a newborn world with incredible rules, where you can witness things appearing from nothing. But exploring it requires Spiritual Manipulation skills, so progress is difficult."Li Ang suddenly felt that what Melegon said was familiar. As he ate his ice cream and pondered, he finally remembered where he had heard similar words when his spoon scraped the bottom of the glass.
"The Deputy Leader of the Order Investigation Corps, Miss Lisya Don, had once invited me to join her in exploring the Demon Disaster Realm because of my Spiritual Manipulation skills. Is this place what she was referring to?"
"That must be it." Melegon nodded.
That orange-haired girl wasn’t joking, which surprised Li Ang. After thinking it over, it was probably because high-tier Curse Masters were rare.
"Even though Curse Masters are rare, the Guild should be able to find some?"
"The Garden of Revival is a very strange place. It lacks the spatial concept of the Material Dimension, and one step could change the surroundings and conditions entirely. Ordinary Curse Masters won’t do. It must be Curse Masters capable of handling various situations because those being escorted can be mysteriously separated."
Melegon touched the lion’s face of the Holy Object: "When I found this thing, I was transported to an area filled with flames, where everything was constantly being destroyed and reborn in the fire. After annihilating a series of Fire Attribute Demons, I encountered a monster with the visage of the Awakened World-Lion. After slaying it, I obtained this Holy Object."
"The visage of the Awakened World-Lion? You mean it looked the same but wasn’t that Transcendent Demon Beast?"
"Yes, its power was much weaker. I could take it on alone."
Li Ang pondered: "Perhaps it’s just a form of larva, destined to grow to Nebis’s level of destruction later."
"That’s possible, but the Investigation Corps has yet to achieve results. They can only speculate that the World destruction Six Punishments is likely related to the Garden of Revival, and other Investigation Knights have seen Demons similar to the other five of the Six Punishments."
The World destruction Six Punishments... These six Demons appear in rotation every two years, cycling over twelve years. Previously, in Akuya’s words, there was a hint that these six Super Magical Beasts have the potential to grow stronger. This reminded Li Ang that perhaps the Six Dragons know something about the Garden of Revival.
But exploring that place is the task of the Order Investigation Corps. Li Ang organized his thoughts and didn’t dwell on it too much.
"Alright, regardless of its secrets, it’s a good item, and I’ll accept it. Thank you."
Confronted with Melegon’s sincerity, declining would seem impolite, so Li Ang accepted this slumbering Lion.
After handing over the two items to Li Ang, Melegon bid farewell and left, leaving behind a promise: "In the Flos Sky Realm, if you encounter any trouble, you can seek help from the Flower Sword Group and me."
Watching the Knight Commander’s departing figure with ever-increasing regard, Li Ang noticed Livi, standing beside him, tightly staring at the slumbering Lion’s Mask.
"Li Ang, this object is so strange. Somehow..."
Does the Dragon Ancestor have any views?
Li Ang immediately asked: "What did you discover?"
"Its power feels somewhat like Agni’s, yet different. I have an inexplicable feeling of familiarity, but my memory is still incomplete."
The Sea Serpent Ancestor’s mentality was still at a child’s level, but she had recovered a lot of memories, at least clearly knowing who among the Dragon Ancestor and the Six Dragons were who. However, the part of the memory involving this thing seemed unimportant to her and was yet to return.
After tweaking his words, Li Ang understood he was saying the power within the slumbering Lion could match that of the Fire Dragon, yet felt like it didn’t belong to this world.
This left Li Ang somewhat baffled, as these clues seemed to suggest the World destruction Six Punishments came from beyond Nebis. Where did they come from? Beyond the Third Dimensional Star Dome? Were they the culprits behind the destruction of the Stargazer Civilization?
Feeling suddenly overwhelmed with many world-related questions, Li Ang noted these down and put them aside for now. Without more information, pondering them was fruitless and a waste of spirit.
Just as he was about to store the slumbering Lion into a Dimensional Rift, he saw the young girls emerge from the salon.
"What, what? Li Ang, what treasure are you hiding?"
Zoe noticed his storing motion and quickly ran over.
The others gathered around curiously as well. Li Ang briefly explained, and the young girls marveled at the Holy Object.
Afterward, they ordered desserts, and just when things quieted down, they pulled Li Ang in to give opinions on their new hairstyles.
Although Dorothy often had a lot to say, she was seriously reliable when it came to offering fashion advice to girls who didn’t understand style.
Though he hadn’t looked closely when they ran over, upon appreciating them individually, an astonishing feeling surfaced.
Zoe made the slightest adjustment, lightening her chestnut hair to a golden shade, but it was just right. Combined with her already doll-like delicate features, gone was the adventurer vibe, replaced by an inexplicable noble aura throughout.
At first sight, An Tasou’s hair was chopped self-shabbily to look boyish, but with trimming over time, she had fully emerged as a beautiful young girl, albeit with a slight tomboy style, which up close highlighted a captivating charm.
ALulu originally had two braided pigtails, but after care and trimming, her hair now flowed smooth and straight to her waist in a pink cascade.
Despite strong features of the Horned Race’s women, she looked sportier before, yet by letting her hair down, she instantly transformed into a graceful girl with a hefty chest, her pink hair and purple eyes giving off a dreamy feel, quite unexpected given her monstrous strength.
Meimei, hiding and shy, was coaxed by Dorothy into curling her white hair. The once flat white hair against her head and face suddenly gained layers, maturing her appearance with a hint of allure.
As for Dorothy herself, she was quite satisfied with her iridescent hair, something a dye could never recreate, boasting about the effort the stylist put in to figure out the effect.
"If you’re bragging about your hair, why cut it short?" Li Ang asked.
With just the cut, Dorothy shifted from a dreamy Forest Fairy to an urban chic style.
"To change styles, giving you some fresh excitement."
The problematic woman spoke with a hint, causing all young girls, except the bewildered Dragon Twins, to show subtle changes in expression, even Farina with her betraying smile.
Farina didn’t partake in any image changes but maintained her rich, curly, fiery red hair.
After finishing the dessert amidst glaring glances from neighboring tables and passersby, Li Ang glanced at the time, realizing it was time for action shopping.
Having his ship was convenient—returning to the port while resting, unlike needing to find a place if not for the Eternal Summer.
"Let’s go, as planned. You collect personal items, and I will bring An to find suitable materials."
"Eh? Why is being alone such an obvious choice? Aren’t you up to no good?" Dorothy complained.
White Wolf’s tail swayed sharply.
Golden Canary frowned, "Wait..."
"Let’s go, stop making a fuss."
Li Ang took the lead, and seeing him, the young girls scattered off in small groups.
Walking alongside the beast-eared maiden toward the adventurer supplies district, turning a corner, Li Ang caught a whiff of the girl’s fragrance.
Once out of their sight, An Tasou lost her sense of distance.
Given the growing fondness, Li Ang allowed her closeness, and as they searched for materials related to her cultivation, gently, time and again, they found the most delightful softness in their contact.
Li Ang struggled to keep his hands disciplined, and despite the attention from fellow shoppers, their decorum projected from outsiders’ eyes as unshakable proof of lovers in deep affection.
Inside the Alchemy Equipment Shop, Li Ang held up a crucible-like item: "Does this work?"
"Close enough." The girl nodded, holding some herbs and Demon materials for incense-making.
Through floating, calcination, quenching, and roasting, these diverse materials could become medicinal spices for the Incense Attendant’s skills.
Li Ang’s interest lay not only in crafting a Blood Control Device for purifying bloodlines but also in the unique cultivation paths of the Yunxiang Race.
As they discussed preparing for the cultivation journey, conversing about incense-making directions, the girl maintained a gentle smile, the sweet scent lingering lingeringly in the air.
