Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 587 Turning point

Chapter 587 Turning point

While Rain couldn't imagine how, but it was possible. Only those who can't see themselves winning would run away from a battle.

In the end, Rain spent one week searching in the area for any signs of the enemy's base, but he found nothing. When he was about to fly further south, to the point that he would have to fly across the world if he had to... he suddenly felt his mana and stamina being drained...

"... They used the Seal... did the dungeons already broke?" Rain thought and then clicked his tongue. "Shit..."

Rain quickly turned around and then began to fly toward home. Finding the enemies was important, but keeping his family safe was by far his top priority.

Although Rain was ten thousand kilometers away from home, he was able to return after just six hours.

As Rain made his way back to his headquarters, he was met with a worrying sight. The place that had once been bustling with activity was now eerily empty. Alarmed by this sudden change, he wasted no time and hurried towards the dungeon, where he hoped to find answers.

What he encountered at the dungeon entrance sent shivers down his spine. Before him, his wives and warriors were engaged in a frantic battle against an overwhelming horde of skeletons. These undead creatures were pouring out of the dungeon in staggering numbers, with thousands of them steadily advancing and more continuing to emerge from the depths of the dungeon.

The skeleton knights weren't moving that much or attacking, and they just kept pushing the warriors away after being punched several times... their frozen shields made them eventually flinch, thanks to the frostbites.

Behind them, the skeleton archers and wizards made ice arrows rain down like literal rain... one couldn't even begin to try to count them.

"I didn't expect things to end like this... so intense," Rain thought, and then he began to fall.

The counterattack was a powerful and clear sign to their unity and determination. With each bone-crushing blow and shield bash, the invaders were sent tumbling and crumbling, unable to withstand the sheer force and determination of Rain and his warriors.

Although Rain changed the flow of the battle, he still kept fighting... for one, the skeleton archers and wizards were still attacking freely, and for another, Rain felt a need to get stronger like never before.

When he was born in that world and saw the power of the dragons, he made a vow to try to become as strong as possible and not to cower in fear in front of those creatures, but now he couldn't help but feel like he had to get stronger to at least buy a few seconds for his family to run away in case that hooded figure tried to target them... it hurt his pride quite a bit, but he couldn't see himself defeating that.

Thanks to that, Rain kept punching the monsters without a care... even when the skeleton archers put arrows on his forehead and pierced his skin to make it bleed and freeze the blood immedtiately... he just kept punching... he needed to relieve all that stress and dark thoughts inside of him. "It is time to really do my best to fulfill the vow that I made to my kids," Rain thought. "I can' stop now... my goal was to become stronger than Seadrei because having a goal is always nice, but something like that isn't enough... I am going to train harder and become as strong as possible... for our survival."

After making up his mind, Rain clenched his fists and teeth with all his might and delivepered a rotating punch that blew away hundreds of skeletons...
