Chapter 1501: He Entered Her Room Again
Chapter 1501: He Entered Her Room Again
Didn’t she say it? He’s not human at all, but a devil, a monster.
If that’s the case, why should he be merciful to her?
"Celeste Linden, we’ve wasted enough time outside. It’s time to go back," Ethan Barnes spoke.
"Celeste, don’t go back with him..." Dominic Reynolds tried to speak, but Ethan’s men had already stepped forward, pressing a knife directly against Dominic’s neck.
"Don’t hurt him!" Celeste Linden hurriedly said.
Ethan Barnes reached out, pulling Celeste Linden into his embrace, forcing her small face upward to look down at Dominic Reynolds, who was kneeling on the ground and at a disadvantage, "See? This is the man who claims to love you, a man who can’t even protect himself. What right does he have to say he loves you? In my view, what’s between you is laughably cheap."
Dominic Reynolds looked at the arrogant man in front of him, tightly clenching his fists. He was also a favored one, yet every time in Ethan’s presence, he was humiliated, feeling powerless.
Celeste Linden’s eyes were red, and she turned away, "Enough, Ethan. You’ve done enough. Stop it."
"So, will you obediently come back with me, or will I have my men bury this man’s corpse here and then capture you again?" Ethan threatened using Dominic’s life.
Dominic looked at Celeste Linden shaking his head, "Celeste, don’t go back with him. Last time I missed you, I let go of your hand, I’m sorry. Don’t compromise for me."
Celeste could never watch Dominic send himself to death, and Ethan had also seized upon this weakness in her nature, so he kept her firmly under control.
"Dominic, I’m grateful you came to save me, but go back. Don’t come looking for me again; we have no way back."
Saying this, Celeste looked toward Ethan, "Let him go. I’ll obediently go back with you."
"That’s sensible. You’ve been with me long enough to know disobedience only brings suffering. Let’s go." Ethan released Celeste and strode toward the jeep.
"Celeste, don’t go with him, don’t!" Dominic cried out with heart-wrenching agony.
Celeste gave Dominic one last look, then turned, following Ethan closely, getting into the jeep.
She had no choice.
Her fate in this life is never hers to decide.
The jeep sped away.
...
Back at the mansion, Ethan pulled Celeste upstairs directly and threw her into a room, "Stay here obediently, don’t come out without my orders."
Celeste landed on the carpet, glaring at Ethan with resentment.
Ethan ordered someone to close the door and went into his study.
The doctor came over to treat Ethan’s palm wound, the cut was deep, bleeding profusely.
"King Hayden, the wound will gradually heal, but it will leave a scar afterwards," the doctor said.
Ethan didn’t mind, he’d suffered countless injuries since childhood, and as a man, scars were nothing.
"No problem, let it scar then."
"This scar might cause King Hayden to lose use of his palm."
The scar ran the entire length of the hand, forming a prominent, disfiguring mark, Ethan was momentarily stunned.
After the doctor finished treating the wound, he retreated. Ethan took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and at that moment, his confidant entered, "Master, how should we handle those women in the harem?"
The beauties in the harem were originally there to confuse enemies, now the traitor has been caught, naturally, the harem should be dealt with.
Ethan pressed his thin lips together, "Give them a large sum of money, then chase them out."
"Yes, master. What about Miss Linden?" asked the confidant.
Ethan glanced at the confidant.
The confidant broke out in a cold sweat, "Master, I didn’t mean anything, I just saw you’ve dealt with all the women, so Miss Linden shouldn’t have any reason to stay, unless... she is different to you."
Ethan looked at the wound on his palm, recalling how as a young man, he instantly noticed the then university student Celeste Linden, her white dress appearing clean and pure, much like his Carlotta.
Thus he deliberately plotted, sold her into a bar, ordered her leg to be broken, and imprisoned her as a slave.
She was originally Carlotta’s substitute, a tool for releasing desire and passing time, maybe he would tire of her, but no one expected her small body to hide immense capabilities, with life force extraordinarily tenacious, repeatedly escaping his control, sparking his desire to conquer, drawing him to chase her.
He brought her back from Dominic to use her as a pawn to lure out the enemy, pushing her into the storm’s center, putting her in danger, all part of his plan, evolving entirely as planned.
But when did it start to change?
Was it when Giolan wanted to raise a knife to kill her, he suddenly couldn’t bear it?
Did it start when she met with old flame Dominic, his heart inexplicably uncomfortable?
In short, Ethan felt himself uneasy, seemingly more and more influenced by her.
"Leave Celeste be, we’ll discuss it later," Ethan ordered.
"Yes, master."
In the room, Celeste quickly heard the commotion outside, her door was locked, unable to leave, so she stood on the balcony looking down, seeing all the beauties from the harem being driven out, not one left.
Many of those beauties wanted to stay, they truly admired Ethan, but he didn’t appear, merciless and cold.
Giolan said he never touched those women, it seems he’s abolished his harem, then why leave her here?
Celeste couldn’t comprehend his reason for leaving her or what value she held for him, maybe, he simply wanted to torment her.
He could grant anyone else freedom but refused to grant it to her.
Yet she yearned for freedom most in this life.
When those beauties left, the mansion fell silent, in the evening, the door opened, a maid brought a delicious dinner, "Miss Linden, it’s time for dinner."
"Leave it."
"Yes."
Celeste had no appetite, she didn’t touch her chopsticks.
After some time, the door opened again, she raised her head, seeing Ethan’s tall, handsome figure by the door, Ethan had arrived.
He entered the room again at night.
Celeste quickly sat up from the bed, retreating to the corner, "Ethan, what are you here for, get out!"
Ethan glanced at the dinner the maid brought, frowned, "Why aren’t you eating dinner? Planning to starve yourself to death with your old lover?"
Old lover?
Who?
Celeste thought for a moment, guessing his mention of old lover was Dominic, why did he speak so sarcastically?
