Chapter 878 - 904: Willing to Take Responsibility (5)
If you truly love someone, how can you not consider them at all? If she had fallen to her death, Camden River would be haunted for life.
He almost carried the burden of a life, and yet she’s there, admiring Windsor Myres’ courage?
She’s simply out of her mind too!
Mia Ginger thought wildly, then felt annoyed, and got up to go to the bedroom.
Her ankle can’t touch water, so she naturally couldn’t take a shower. She washed her hands and face under the faucet, glanced up, and ended up washing her hair too.
Just as she stepped out of the bedroom, she heard someone opening the door.
Could it be Brother Jackson is back?
Just as Mia was thinking this, she saw Windsor Myres coming out of the bathroom with a towel, peeking out and wiping her face.
Then—
A loud bang echoed through the whole house.
Mia jumped in fright as Windsor tossed the towel and ran to the kitchen.
Koa Jackson had just come in, naturally stunned for a moment, not even bothering to change his shoes, and quickly headed towards the source of the noise.
After a chaotic noise in the kitchen, Windsor came out with a peculiar look on her face.
Then—
Koa Jackson also came out with a dark expression.
He stepped into the living room, looked at Mia with a speechless face, and said, "Didn’t I tell you to do nothing, why didn’t you listen?"
Mia glanced up at him without a word.
She still didn’t know what happened in the kitchen!
Windsor knew he got it wrong and quickly explained with helplessness, "It wasn’t Mia, it was me. She’s not in a good position, so I thought I’d cook some congee, maybe I added too little water? Didn’t notice and it exploded."
Mia: "..."
Koa Jackson turned to glance at her, enduring his silence.
His gaze fell on Mia’s face again.
Only then did he notice the three nail marks from her forehead to the corner of her eye, and immediately frowned, "What happened to your face?"
Did a fall really cause her face to end up like this?
Just after asking, he recalled the injury he inadvertently saw at the corner of Windsor’s mouth.
His expression changed.
Once Windsor left, he said in a deep voice, "Did you two fight?"
"No." Mia reflexively denied it.
Koa Jackson’s expression grew darker, "Tell the truth."
Mia: "Hmm."
It was a soft sound, like a mosquito buzzing.
Koa pressed his fingers against his forehead, continuing to hold back, "What’s the reason?"
"Her boyfriend broke up with her; she thought I was setting her boyfriend up with someone else, came to confront me, I ignored her, then at KFC I got a cup of Coke poured on me."
Koa Jackson: "Go on."
"I poured a cup of Coke on her too and threw a burger at her. She chased after me and slapped me, so I fought back."
Koa Jackson: "..."
Mia moved closer to him and whispered, "It’s really not my fault, she hit first."
Koa Jackson said helplessly, "Who said I blame you? I don’t blame you."
"Mhm." Mia hugged his arm, burying her face in it, and mumbled, "I really don’t want to deal with her anymore; it’s too embarrassing. In public, it felt like being watched like a monkey."
"Then stay away from her in the future." Koa Jackson’s voice was cold.
"Okay." Mia said, moving slightly again.
Koa Jackson looked down at her, "Why are you squirming around with a hurt foot?"
"It hurts." Mia asked him sullenly, "Did you bring the medicine?"
"I did."
