The pink pillar of light plummeted from the sky, carrying destructive heat and kinetic force straight toward Kaido. The surrounding air distorted violently under the extreme temperature.
The Namekian elder, terrified, clutched the child tightly and squeezed his eyes shut in despair.
Kaido didn't dodge. He didn't even coat his skin in a basic layer of Armament Haki. He simply opened his mouth and let out a heaven-shaking roar.
The dark red lightning of his Conqueror's Haki erupted from his body once more. Swinging the spiked Hassaikai, he met the incoming pink beam head-on.
"Thunder Bagua!"
The Haki-infused iron club smashed solidly into the energy wave.
There was no evenly-matched stalemate. There was no deafening explosion.
The energy blast, powerful enough to level a mountain range, was brutally swatted away like a baseball. The pink pillar of light was forced violently off its trajectory, shooting into the distant horizon where it detonated in a brilliant explosion high in the atmosphere.
The cruel sneer froze completely on Dodoria's face. His cold eyes bulged as if they were about to pop out of their sockets.
"How is this possible?! Your power level is only ten thousand! How could you deflect my ultimate attack?!"
He frantically smacked his left Scouter, trying to confirm if the machine had suffered a fatal glitch.
Kaido bent his knees sharply. The rock beneath him fractured and sank over a wide area. His massive body launched upward like a heavy artillery shell, instantly closing the distance and appearing right in front of Dodoria.
His seven-meter-tall frame brought with it a suffocating sense of dread. Kaido reached out with his thick left hand and clamped it directly over Dodoria's spike-covered, fat face.
"Who were you calling a wild monkey just now?" Kaido's voice rumbled like muffled thunder in his chest.
Dodoria thrashed wildly. His proud battle power was as useless as a newborn baby's against this native. The massive hand gripped his skull like a vice, the bones creaking ominously under the pressure.
With a brutal flex of his arm, Kaido dragged Dodoria out of the sky, plummeting rapidly toward the ground.
BOOM! Dodoria's back slammed heavily into Namek's hard bedrock, carving out a human-shaped crater over ten meters deep. Shattered rock and blue dirt exploded outward.
Dodoria violently coughed up a massive mouthful of purple blood. He felt as though his internal organs had completely shifted from the impact. His durable white combat suit was shredded into rags.
Kaido planted a foot squarely on Dodoria's chest. The monstrous weight pressing down made it impossible for the alien to breathe.
"Now, let's talk business. Where are the Dragon Balls?"
Dodoria grimaced in agony, but the arrogance bred in his bones—and his sheer terror of Frieza—were still acting up.
"You lowly native! Lord Frieza is on this planet! He already has five Dragon Balls! If you touch me, Lord Frieza will tear you to pieces!"
Kaido raised a bushy eyebrow. He couldn't care less about empty threats. All he heard were the words 'five Dragon Balls'.
This was a massive surprise. If he took out this Frieza guy, he could get five Dragon Balls all at once and present them to the Manager. That would be a monumental achievement, enough to let him walk sideways through the tavern.
Kaido applied a little more pressure with his foot. Several of Dodoria's ribs snapped with a crisp crack. A pig-like squeal of agony echoed across the ruined village.
"When I ask a question, you answer. Don't try to use some 'Lord' to intimidate me. When I was an Emperor of the Sea in the New World, no one dared talk to me like that. This Frieza... how strong is he?"
Dodoria coughed violently, purple foam bubbling from his lips. His Scouter had been completely destroyed in the crash, but his blind, fanatical worship of Frieza remained intact.
"Lord Frieza's battle power... his battle power is five hundred and thirty thousand! He can destroy a planet with a flick of his finger! Garbage like you isn't even fit to carry his shoes!"
Hearing the number five hundred and thirty thousand, Kaido didn't show the fear or despair Dodoria expected. Instead, he threw his head back and laughed—a wild, manic, unhinged laugh.
"Five hundred and thirty thousand? Sounds like a pretty damn good top-tier punching bag! I was just thinking I hadn't stretched my muscles enough. My bones are getting rusty."
Dodoria looked at Kaido as if he were a true lunatic. He couldn't understand if this native had his brain scrambled. Who hears of a power level of 530,000 and doesn't fall to their knees begging for mercy?
Kaido leaned down, his massive shadow completely engulfing Dodoria at the bottom of the crater.
"Keep talking. Where are the last two Dragon Balls?"
Dodoria was genuinely terrified now. This horned monster didn't play by the rules. The terrifying name of Lord Frieza held absolutely no deterrent effect. To save his own life, he had no choice but to spill everything he knew.
"Another one is with Vegeta, that bastard! That Saiyan traitor stole a Dragon Ball and is hiding! The last one... the last one is with the Grand Elder of this planet! He lives on a high cliff to the far north!"
Kaido nodded in extreme satisfaction. The intel was crystal clear. The boss, Frieza, had five. A Saiyan traitor named Vegeta had one. Some old bag of bones called the Grand Elder had the last one.
Kill all these nuisances, and all seven Dragon Balls were his.
Kaido pulled the Hassaikai from the ground beside him.
"Which direction is this Frieza?"
Trembling, Dodoria raised a stubby arm and pointed toward the east.
"Over there... Lord Frieza's spaceship is parked in a clearing in that direction. I've told you everything I know! Let me go! I can pretend this never happened. I swear I won't report your location to Lord Frieza!"
Kaido let out a scoff of disdain.
"Let you go? I never agreed to a losing trade."
Kaido hoisted the Hassaikai high. The violent black lightning coiled around the spiked club once more.
"Weren't you going to blast me to ash with your energy wave just a minute ago? Next time you reincarnate, remember to polish those dog eyes of yours."
Dodoria's eyes widened in despair. He opened his mouth to scream for mercy, but the heavy iron club crashed down mercilessly, bringing a howling gale with it.
SQUELCH! Like a ripe watermelon struck head-on by a siege hammer, Dodoria's spike-covered head was smashed directly into his broad chest cavity. His fat, pink body twitched twice at the bottom of the crater before losing all signs of life.
Kaido casually flicked the blood off the Hassaikai. He didn't spare the headless corpse a second glance.
Turning his head, he looked toward the eastern direction Dodoria had pointed out.
Frieza. 530,000 battle power. Five ready-to-take Dragon Balls.
Kaido felt the belligerent blood in his veins boiling over. This was the true battle he had been craving. He was going to drag this so-called Emperor of the Universe right off his throne, then lay the spoils before Shop Manager Blake.
He was going to show Doflamingo—that scheming string-puller—and Akainu—that rigid mad dog—exactly who the Manager's strongest, most capable enforcer was.
Kaido took large strides toward the Namekian elder. The old man trembled in terror, shielding the child, thinking this vicious monster was going to kill them too.
Instead, Kaido just blew a hot breath from his nostrils.
"Hey, old man. How far is this Grand Elder's place from here?"
The old man answered with a stutter, "V-very far. At the northernmost tip of the planet. There's a very, very tall stone pillar cliff there."
Having gotten his topographical confirmation, Kaido ignored the weak grandfather and child. He pushed off with his legs, his massive body taking to the sky once more, blurring into an unstoppable black streak as he sped toward Frieza's ship.
He decided to grab the five ready-made Dragon Balls first, casually squash that Saiyan named Vegeta along the way, and then head to the Grand Elder for the final one.
This simple, brutal plan was absolutely perfect.
Kaido laughed wildly as he flew, his voice echoing far and wide through the thin air of Namek.
