Chapter 335 Xuanyuan Sword
Chapter 335 Xuanyuan Sword
Qin Xiaochuan, caught in the vortex, felt dizzy and disoriented, completely unaware of his surroundings or what was happening around him. He lost all senses, except for the warmth in his hand, which he held tightly in his palm, not daring to relax for even a moment.
It was unclear how much time had passed before Qin Xiaochuan fully recovered from his dizziness. When he opened his eyes, he found himself lying on the ground, surrounded by inverted, sharp stalactites. It looked like an underground cave. Normally, such underground caves should be pitch black, but among the stalactites were many glowing columns, some blue, some green, all sorts of colors, making the entire cave look mottled and colorful.
After his thoughts returned to his mind, Qin Xiaochuan immediately turned to look at his side. Seeing Guo Shiyi lying safely beside him, he breathed a sigh of relief. He propped his head up with his arm and took a good look at Guo Shiyi. At this moment, her eyes were closed and her face showed a slight pain, indicating that she was still dizzy.
Qin Xiaochuan stared blankly at that flawless face, momentarily stunned.
Just then, Guo Shiyi suddenly opened her eyes. As she looked around at her surroundings, her eyes met Qin Xiaochuan's. Qin Xiaochuan panicked and instinctively tried to look away, but at that moment, there seemed to be something incredibly attractive in Guo Shiyi's eyes that made him unable to look away. The two of them stared at each other quietly for a while.
"You're awake?" The two spoke almost simultaneously, and then couldn't help but laugh at the same time. Guo Shiyi looked away shyly, glancing at the glowing stalactite above her head, while Qin Xiaochuan remained in the same position, boldly looking at her face.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Guo Shiyi said reproachfully.
"Because it looks good," Qin Xiaochuan replied without hesitation.
A hint of joy flashed across Guo Shiyi's face, but she quickly suppressed it and said haughtily, "I still feel a little dizzy, quickly help me up." As she was about to raise her hand, she realized that her hand was still being held in Qin Xiaochuan's hand.
Qin Xiaochuan smiled knowingly and pulled her to stand up with him.
"Where is this place?" Guo Shiyi asked.
"It should be an underground cave." Qin Xiaochuan looked around again and found that there was a layer of fine white sand under their feet. Not far from them was an underground river. The water was shallow and slow. The light of the stalactites shone on the surface of the river, making it sparkle. The banks were piled with bones, which looked a bit creepy. However, Qin Xiaochuan and Guo Shiyi were both worldly people, so they didn't feel anything.
"Where are Sister Kexin and the others?" Guo Shiyi looked around.
Qin Xiaochuan opened his mental space and quickly found their whereabouts. He then brought Guo Shiyi, Han Kexin, and Zhou Bin together.
Kaiming shook its head, its nine faces all looking dazed, and it staggered, clearly not yet fully recovered from the dizziness.
"Does having more heads make you dizzier?" Qin Xiaochuan joked with a smile.
"Of course! You only saw one dizzying moment, but I saw nine dizzying moments at the same time," Kaiming muttered to himself.
"Who told you to have so many heads? I'm really curious, what's the use of having so many heads? Is it so you can eat more?" Qin Xiaochuan continued to tease.
"Don't treat me like a glutton. Don't you think having so many heads makes you look impressive?" one of the enlightened heads said smugly. Then another head followed up, "In ancient times, powerful demons and beasts all had multiple heads. Having an extra head was like having an extra life."
"But with nine heads, wouldn't there be nine thoughts at the same time? Wouldn't that cause a split personality?" Guo Shiyi teased from the side, her words hitting the nail on the head.
After the four people and one beast met up, they followed Qin Xiaochuan's instructions and walked along the underground river.
"We're not that superficial. We'll always be of one mind, cooperate perfectly, and never have any disagreements," all nine heads said simultaneously. Just as Qin Xiaochuan and the others looked on with confusion and suspicion, the head in the center of the Enlightened Residence said, "Okay, actually I was just kidding. Although I have nine heads, under normal circumstances only one head is working properly at a time, while the others are in a dormant state. Each of my heads represents a role, and I only switch to other heads when I need to switch roles."
"Heh, so it's the Enneagram, impressive." Qin Xiaochuan teased.
"What is the Enneagram?" Kai-ming asked curiously.
Guo Shiyi explained on Qin Xiaochuan's behalf: "Psychologists divide different people into nine personality types. I didn't expect that you, oh no, you, the beast, would be the only one to fit all nine categories."
"I am a divine beast. Don't confuse me with ordinary demonic beasts. Come to think of it, some people used to call me 'Thousand Faces, Thousand People'," Kaiming said, shaking its nine heads.
"If you're involved in the underworld, you must be a shrewd person," Qin Xiaochuan joked.
What does it mean to be involved in organized crime?
Just as Qin Xiaochuan was about to answer him, Guo Shiyi suddenly pointed in a direction and said, "Xiaochuan, look what's that?"
Qin Xiaochuan looked in the direction she pointed and saw a ball of blue light floating in the air, drifting along the riverbank.
"It's a vengeful spirit," Han Kexin said expressionlessly. "It must be the lingering resentment of a demon beast that died unjustly here, which has turned into a vengeful spirit and is wandering around this place."
"Huh? Isn't that a ghost?" After hearing Han Kexin's explanation, Guo Shiyi's face immediately turned pale. She tightly gripped Qin Xiaochuan's sleeve, not daring to go forward. She had been afraid of ghosts since she was very young, and it had left her with psychological trauma.
"Do vengeful spirits attack people?" Qin Xiaochuan didn't find it scary at all; in his eyes, vengeful spirits were no different from the monsters outside.
"What do you think? If it doesn't attack people, why would it keep this resentment? Of course, it's for revenge." Han Kexin said casually, clearly not taking the vengeful spirit seriously.
"Don't worry," Qin Xiaochuan comforted Guo Shiyi, holding her hand. "With me here, no demons or monsters can get close to the beautiful Guo."
Hearing his words, Guo Shiyi couldn't help but chuckle, her unease lessening considerably. She said, "Why are you always so frivolous?"
"Am I being indecent?" Qin Xiaochuan rolled his eyes, seemingly puzzled and unconvinced. "I'm clearly very serious, okay?"
"Sister Kexin, do you think he's serious?"
"Men are all like that. Haven't you heard the saying, 'A man is a boy until he dies'? You'll get used to it." Han Kexin's tone remained calm, making it unclear whether she was praising or criticizing him.
