Revelation of the Way of Heaven

Chapter 313 Crimson Royal Court

Chapter 313 Crimson Royal Court

"Listen up, all of you! This is the reincarnation of our great Blood Witch King—the Uncrowned One! Come and pay your respects!" The Wood Priest stood beside Qin Xiaochuan and addressed the Blood Witches in the execution platform square.

The Blood Witches in the square, including all the Royal Guards, all showed expressions of joy and excitement upon hearing this. They quickly knelt on one knee as instructed and said in unison, "Greetings, Blood Witch King."

The wood priest continued, "Today's executions are suspended for now. From now on, you must strictly abide by the precepts of the previous Blood Witch King and are not allowed to initiate conflicts with humans."

The fire priest glanced at the wood priest and said, "Wood priest, according to the rules, the identity of the reincarnation of the Blood Witch King should not be announced before the formal coronation. Aren't you breaking the rules by doing this?"

"That is indeed the case according to the rules, but the Uncrowned One has already clashed with the public in Crescent City. In order to avoid causing greater trouble in the future, it is better to announce his identity in advance," the Wood Priest said calmly.

"Hmph!" The fire priest was clearly dissatisfied with the wood priest's excuse, but since the deed was done, he had no choice but to express his protest with his dissatisfaction.

"In that case, let's return to the royal court now. I've already informed the other three priests, and I believe they are already waiting for us in the Blood Crown Hall," the Wood Priest said to Qin Xiaochuan, gesturing for him to proceed.

"Alright." Qin Xiaochuan nodded, but instead of flying directly to the royal court as the wood priest had instructed, he had Kaiming take him to the ground.

"Wood Priest, what does he mean by this?" the Fire Priest asked the Wood Priest, frowning.

The wood priest looked at Qin Xiaochuan's retreating figure with a meaningful look in his eyes, but smiled slightly and said, "I don't know either, why ask so many questions? Just follow him." With that, he followed Qin Xiaochuan and fell from the sky. The fire priest had no other choice but to fall from the sky as well.

Qin Xiaochuan landed beside Han Kexin and the others. As he descended from the sky, the blood witches who had been surrounding them immediately retreated. Xiaoying also folded her wings and ran to Qin Xiaochuan, taking his hand and asking, "Uncle Xiaochuan, are you alright?"

Qin Xiaochuan patted her head and said with a smile, "Of course you're fine, Xiaoying was great just now."

"Greetings, Princess Xiao Ying." As soon as the wood priest and fire priest landed from the sky, they saw Xiao Ying at a glance and immediately bowed to her with their hands on her chest.

"Uncle Wood Priest, Uncle Fire Priest, it's you! Long time no see!" Xiaoying greeted the two politely.

"Yes, it's been a long time." The wooden priest showed a rare kind smile, then looked at Han Kexin and said, "Miss Han, you're finally back."

"Yes, we're back. We've finally accomplished our mission," Han Kexin said calmly.

So the wood priest led the group on foot toward the royal court, and wherever they went, everyone automatically bowed to them with their hands on their chests.

The royal court was entirely composed of Gothic architecture. After entering the royal court, the wood priest led the group through several buildings and finally arrived at the Blood Crown Hall, the seat of the successive Blood Witch Kings and the place where they handled state affairs. The Blood Crown Hall had a ten-meter-high silver dome, inlaid with obsidian and twelve large blood crystals, with red light flowing inside.

Inside the Blood Crown Hall are twelve giant pillars, each carved with scenes of the battles fought by successive Blood Witch Kings. On each pillar sits a silver-winged bat with blood-red light dancing in its eyes.

The throne, representing the supreme power of Crescent City, is located atop nine steps and is forged from the spine of an ancient demon beast. Two bone dragons coil around the two armrests of the throne, each holding two huge dark red beads in its mouth, giving it a breathtaking and oppressive feel from afar.

Just as the Wood Priest had said, the other three priests had been waiting in the Blood Crown Hall for a long time. The Gold Priest was standing next to the throne with his back to the crowd, while the Water Priest and Earth Priest stood on either side of the hall, watching the crowd enter.

Qin Xiaochuan was led to the center of the hall by the Wood Priest, who said to the figure standing next to the throne, "Gold Priest, the Uncrowned One has arrived."

The priest wore a dark gold robe, its surface embroidered with fine, hair-like patterns. The hem of the robe moved slightly without wind, as if it were alive.

Upon hearing the Wood Priest's words, the Gold Priest slowly turned around. Qin Xiaochuan was the first to see a pair of cold and sharp eyes looking down at him, as if they could see right through his deepest secrets.

Qin Xiaochuan was not intimidated by the other person's gaze. Instead, he met the other person's gaze calmly and patiently, waiting for the other person to speak first.

The Golden Priest appeared to be a middle-aged man in his forties or fifties, with a face that looked as if it had been carved by a knife, a high and straight nose that was almost stern, and a pale complexion like a newly minted silver coin, gleaming with a cold metallic luster.

After a long while, the Golden Priest finally spoke: "So you are the Uncrowned One? According to the rules of the Blood Witch Clan, although you are the reincarnation of the previous Blood Witch King, I still cannot call you King until you are officially transformed into a Blood Witch and crowned. You also cannot exercise the rights of a King."

Qin Xiaochuan smiled slightly and said neither humbly nor arrogantly, "I will naturally abide by the rules of Crescent Moon City. As for what follows, I will leave it to the High Priest Jin to preside over."

The Golden Priest gently tapped his silver-glowing staff with his thumb and said, "Starting with the second Blood Witch King, all uncrowned beings who wish to become true kings must pass the Dustless Trial. The content of this trial will come from the revelations of the Goddess Nuwa. Before the formal trial, you should stay in the royal court and continue your cultivation to prepare for the future trial."

"Okay," Qin Xiaochuan replied calmly. "We'll do as the High Priest says."

"Very well. Priest Wood, you will take the Uncrowned One to the inner court. You will be responsible for arranging all matters concerning the Uncrowned One's life," Priest Gold said calmly.

"I understand." The Wood Priest bowed to the Gold Priest with his hand on his chest, then led Qin Xiaochuan and the others out of the Blood Crown Hall and into the inner court.

The inner court was where the Blood Witch King rested daily, including his bedroom, study, meditation room, and other residences. Along the way, Qin Xiaochuan saw many imperial guards on duty, and when they saw the group passing by, they all bowed to their chests to show respect.

Qin Xiaochuan followed behind the wood priest, passing through many corridors and doorways. After more than ten minutes, they finally arrived at the audience hall in the inner court, which was the Blood Witch King's private reception room.

The wood priest clapped his hands, and immediately three maids entered the hall and stood by his side, hands at his sides, awaiting orders.
