Chapter 106: Burn to death
Chapter 106: Burn to death
"You knew...?" Mila asked, her voice trembling.
Seraph smiled and nodded. "Of course. That was the plan all long. But still, I’m disappointed."
He smiled bitterly, then turned around to face the person who had appeared behind him silently.
Cartel stopped concealing his killing intent and glared at him.
"So it was you. Where is the ring?" He growled.
The white-haired young man shrugged. "I already gave it to my friends."
Instantly, Cartel flew into rage! "You did what?!"
He immediately want to turn around and start chasing Seraph’s so-called friends, but realized he had no idea who they were or where they had gone.
"Looks like I’ll have to torture you until you tell me where they are."
He took a step forward, releasing his spiritual pressure and aiming to pin Seraph to the ground.
However, to his surprise, he was forced back by an equally strong, if not stronger, force.
"You... what sect are you from?!"
At first, he had considered Seraph as a rogue cultivator and someone without much strength. However, feeling the spiritual pressure of a Master Stage cultivator, he knew it wasn’t so at all.
This smiling guy must definitely be from a sect.
Still smiling, Seraph tilted his head. "Oh? You mean my sect? You don’t need to know, alright?"
Cartel’s expression turned serious, and he took out a sword from his storage ring.
In response, Seraph took out a different spear since his old spear had been broken.
"Want to fight me? You’ll regret it." He smiled, taking a step forward.
"Courting death!" Cartel growled, raising the sword and taking a fighting stance.
Glancing back, Seraph said to Mila. "What are you doing standing there? Out of my sight."
He waved his hand, and the girl was blown off the edge of the cliff, falling down below.
He turned to face Cartel, then smiled again. "Let’s start."
The guy immediately attacked, swinging his sword straight at Seraph.
A thin red line of fire cut straight at him, to which he easily countered with a single sweep of his spear.
Four water blades shot at Cartel, with two canceling his attack and the other two coming straight at him.
"Blow!"
Thrusting his sword forward, a pillar of flames shot forward and swallowed the two water blades.
Seraph grinned. Rushing up to Cartel, he descended upon him with a hurricane of blades.
Cartel could barely defend himself. His expression soured when he realized he was barely keeping up with Seraph’s skills and speed.
"Meteor shower!"
He jumped back and shot five meteors at Seraph, but the latter dodged easily.
"Go to hell."
Seraph laughed hard, effortlessly pressuring Cartel and keeping him on the defensive.
"Ahhh! You bastard!"
Soon, Cartel’s two lackeys appeared, along with some other disciples. The bald disciple Mo also appeared, and they all surrounded Seraph, leaving him no route to escape.
"You’ll die here!" Cartel’s first lackey barked with a fierce grin.
"Shut up. I’m not killing him." Cartel snapped at him, then turned to the surrounded prey. "I’ll make sure to torture you before letting you die."
Seraph also stopped smiling. "Before we start, I have a question. Who knows the whereabouts of the disciples your sect kidnapped from Winter Peak?"
Mo and Cartel’s expression stiffened, and this didn’t pass Seraph’s notice. He caught those looks easily.
Knowing he had been caught, Cartel scoffed. "So what? By the time we’re done with you, you won’t even remember you have a question to ask."
Raising his sword, he pointed at Seraph. "Kill him."
The disciples immediately rushed at Seraph, roaring with their weapons and throwing out skills.
"Weak."
Seraph breathed, then spammed wind blades, turning them into a meat grinder around him, with their sharp edges turned outward.
Some disciples were oblivious and slammed into it, turning into pieces of flesh, bone, and pools of blood in seconds.
Others immediately grew cautious and bombarded the grinder with fire techniques. However, that didn’t help.
Seraph merely incomporated their flames and turned it into a tornado of flames.
The disciples backed away, until Mo stepped forward.
"Senior Brother." They all chorused.
Being a Master Stage cultivator too, he was sure he could do something about Seraph’s bizarre technique.
"Crash!"
He struck a palm forward, and a phantom lightning palm that was as large as him appeared midair and shot at Seraph.
It easily broke down a portion of the meat grinder, then struck him.
Seraph crossed his arms as he was forced back by the attack, feeling his sleeves burn and singe. Even his arm had gotten charred black.
’This is definitely not a good skin color.’
Chuckling to himself, he immediately used his affinity to life element and tried healing himself. A soft white light came onto his hands, and soon, the burns completely disappeared.
Seeing this, every disciple present was stunned.
Mo’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. "What the hell was that?"
Seraph looked at him and grinned. "You all claim you have fire immunity, right? Let me show you something."
He spread his hands, and the ground beneath them began heating up. Cracks split across the floor, and magma flowed out.
The Inferno Sect disciples were stunned, feeling the temperature go higher than usual.
Some of them were already starting to sweat, while others endured with pure will.
"Not done yet!"
Suddenly, flames erupted from the ground and enveloped evening.
Some disciples screamed when their clothes were burnt and their skin became scorched.
Cartel and Mo frowned, using their spiritual energy to prevent the flames from reaching them.
"Bastard!"
Cartel roared and rushed at Seraph, but was forced back by the flames burning furiously.
"Hah! What technique is this?"
Seraph smiled and walked towards him. "Do you want to know? It’s called Fire Domain. You must be very insensitive too."
He sneered mockingly, causing Cartel’s enraged glare to intensify.
"Insensitive? What nonsense are you saying?"
That was when he noticed it. His surroundings was too silent. When he looked around, the other disciples had been burnt to skeletons and ashes. His eyes widened in shock.
"Wha... what...?"
