Chapter 187 The Star Devourer
Chapter 187 The Star Devourer
Chapter 187 The Star Devourer
"Now I have become Death, the destroyer of the world." —
Bhagavad Gita
After Tony truly reactivated the Amozzo Core and made it usable in combat, the first thing that came to mind was a passage from the Bhagavad Gita.
Tony had no way of knowing what the previous creator of the world-destroying weapon was thinking when he quoted this sentence.
All he knew was that the other person had only made an analogy, while Tony himself would become Death, the destroyer of the world, in the future.
Anyone with a sound mind can see the infinite potential of the Amozzo system. Its creator's initial flash of inspiration resulted in a special programmable machine capable of adaptive evolution.
Because of its unique structural system, the Amozzo Core has no memory function and can only imitate nearby superpowers in order to change its form infinitely flexibly.
Once the other party is far away, the ability to imitate will be irreversibly lost.
However, given enough time, this problem will eventually cease to be a problem.
By then, there will be no need for a massive army of Amodrome robots; a single, perfectly evolved machine capable of becoming a god will be enough to roam all worlds.
Tony was annoyed by Spider-Man's restraint in 2099. He knew he was doing something wrong and couldn't resist prying into the secrets of the exquisite Amozzo core.
Why couldn't the other person just be straightforward and punch him in the head to bring him back to his senses?
This is roughly one of the reasons why Iron Man provoked Spider-Man 2099.
Having roughly figured this out, Joey wished he could just punch Tony's inexplicably long head and send it to the North Pole.
However, he is not a psychologist, and it is possible that using personality correction techniques rashly might backfire.
Furthermore, there are countless things in a person's life that they can't understand. As long as they don't want to die, they'll eventually figure them out. For example, right now, everyone here is forced to enter the scenario where Earth is on the verge of destruction:
"Tony, find those idiots at S.H.I.E.L.D. and ask them which underground bunker they hid the Tesseract in! If they don't tell you, I'll have to break down every door to find it!"
"Quick! Something amazing is coming!"
The Kryptonians' vision was severely limited by lead, especially since most of the high-density underground bunkers on the planet were designed with radiation-proof layers.
Judging from the strength of the Zarab aliens, the "master" he speaks of must be an incomparably powerful being.
From the perspective of the original Fifth Dimension, that unusually powerful energy is gradually spreading across the Earth, and Joey is now as anxious as Spider-Man, who has inexplicably triggered his spider-sense but can't find the source of the threat.
His gaze swept across the Earth, but he couldn't find the energy traces that the original had sensed. So he naturally guessed that it was probably caused by S.H.I.E.L.D. messing around with the Tesseract again.
If the core of this Tesseract is also the Space Stone, then it means that S.H.I.E.L.D.'s recklessness is indeed astonishing, triggering an invasion that occurred outside their sight.
Before Tony could even have Jarvis call S.H.I.E.L.D. to demand an explanation, the phone rang back from S.H.I.E.L.D.
Jarvis's smart projector lit up: "Sir, Phil Coulson is calling."
Connect it to the console.
Tony tossed the communication message from the other end onto the projector and turned on the speakerphone, but instead of Coulson's polite and courteous voice, a rough, explosive, and powerful male voice came through:
"Motherf**ker, Tony, have you come up with some new dangerous gadget yet? Something that looks like a T-1000..."
Similar liquid metal robots are approaching our Earth!
So rude, and he likes to shirk responsibility. He sounds like that guy in charge at S.H.I.E.L.D., that rude one-eyed black bastard.
Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"What?! Fury, don't try to play the victim!"
Tony knew that Nick Fury's problems had nothing to do with him, but upon closer reflection, he realized that his recent troubles mainly stemmed from the ridiculous T-800 robot that had appeared before. Now, what was with this T-1000?
Tony turned to Joey, hoping for an answer, only to find that the latter had already vanished without a trace.
[It is him, who possesses the same energy properties as Zarab, but—]
"But the magnitude of his energy is far less than Zarab's," Joey answered the First Generation's question, "because he is not Zarab's master; like Zarab, he is merely an emissary of the other!"
Coulson, who was completely misled by Tony, must have reported a lot of Terminator-related nonsense to Fury, which led Fury to believe that the Terminator was a liquid silver robot the first time he saw it in the S.H.I.E.L.D. probe.
At the other person's prompting, Joey turned his gaze to space and immediately recognized the silver-skinned figure:
"Oh crap!"
Do you know him?
The newcomer rides a cosmic surfboard, gliding forward as if surfing on the beach, except his ocean is the boundless universe, and the waves beneath his feet are cosmic gravitational waves.
The glider was as fast as the Reverse Lightning that Joey had seen, leaving a high-energy wake in its wake, as if the vast galaxy was split in two by that cosmic arc of light.
"I know it all too well."
That wasn't some liquid metal robot T-1000 from Skynet, but a silver glider.
But beyond his physical nickname "Silver Slicker," he also had another, more dangerous title—"Star Devourer."
Previously, when Joey was grumbling to himself, he had wondered what kind of incredible crisis would come after the Fantastic Four, the Destroyer, and the Heirs.
At the time, the only thing he could imagine was a troublemaking group of gods. Why would such an unreasonable being appear?
As Joey soared over the atmosphere, he began to accelerate without limit, his gaze fixed firmly on the silver glider, preparing to intercept this star-devouring messenger from beyond Earth.
If the enemy were to actually infiltrate Earth and place a beacon to attract their master, then probably no one would be able to stop Earth's destruction.
If Joey had known beforehand that the Zarab aliens hunted by the original Ultraman from the Land of Light were backed by such a true god, he would have preferred to have been killed by the dump truck back then.
"Now I know who the master that Zarab was talking about really is, and I also know that if he really comes here, we're all doomed."
People often say that powerful races like Kryptonians or Ultraman are like "gods," which is of course used to demonstrate the immense power of these two races.
If things aren't handled properly, Joey, the original Ultraman, and the Earth beneath their feet might have to face a true god, a supreme being who transcends the multiverse and whose power far surpasses that of most gods:
Galatus, the "devourer of planets".
